Siren

Sirens are dangerous sea-creatures of legend. Sailors trade tall-tales about their encounters with these entities, but few accounts carry any weight. It is unknown how many, if any, actually exist. Despite this, stories and myths are rife with mention of these elusive creatures.

Sirens are said to have the upper body of a woman and the lower body of a fish, much like mermaids, and live in the depths of the ocean. They are stunningly beautiful, but harbor a heart full of vile intentions. When they happen upon passing ships, they surface to sing their enchanting siren’s song, luring the sailors to an untimely, watery death. This song is said to be completely irresistible. Stories tell of captains veering vessels into rocks or sailors casting themselves into the sea just to get closer.

Siren’s Song

The song of the siren is an enchanting, nearly irresistible call. At the beginning of each turn, a character that can hear the song of a siren will feel compelled to approach the source of the siren’s call. They must make an overcome Will roll with a flat difficulty of 4. If they fail, they will do everything in their power on their turn to move closer to the source of the siren’s song. Additionally, they will make no attempt to restrain themselves or cover their ears or eyes. If this would cause an affected character to do something imminently dangerous to their own health, like jumping overboard, they can make one more attempt to overcome the siren‘s song this turn.

Feed on death

Sirens feed off of the negative emotions of those who die around them. At the beginning of the siren’s turn, they may clear a number of shifts worth of stress and consequences from themselves. The number of shifts must be equal to or less than the number of non-siren characters they’ve witnessed die since their last turn
