Bards

When discussing bards, there is a common distinction made between two types. There are the working class men and women of the performative arts, playing music, delivering speeches and poetry, telling stories, and chronicling history through their writing. And then there are practitioners of performative magic.

These types of bards indulge in the same kinds of activities, but they tend to do so in very different situations with very different goals. Mundane bards seek to earn a wage entertaining the people of the world, making art, and living a nomadic lifestyle. Magical bards tend to fit into adventuring parties, protecting their allies through powerful supportive spells and devastating banes.
